Qualifications and Background

David Hunt David has over 20 years of experience in the local telecommunications industry with a significant breadth of experience and contacts coming from his Carrier, Service Provider , Supplier and Facilities Management backgrounds.

In accordance with the Australian Communications Authority and the Telecommunications Act 1997 David holds a current Base General Premises Cabling Licence (Lic.No.00470431094) incorporating Telecommunications Project Management.

In 1985 David commenced two years Electronic Engineering studies before opting to join Telecom Australia. Whilst at Telecom he was trained in, and installed analogue/digital exchange equipment, radio network transmission infrastructure together with customer premise equipment.

In 1988 David joined Ericsson Business Communications Division and due to industry deregulation was responsible for PABX hardware maintenance and service assurance products. His responsibilities increased including upgrades and expansions of existing small office PABX and additional hardware. During the next years he developed a diverse knowledge of products including Networked PABX's, key systems, cordless telephony, call accounting, voice processing systems and other peripheral systems.

With his technical background David was able to familiarize himself with the programming of the systems resulting in fully utilizing the individual functionality of the systems to the clients unique requirements.

Whilst at Ericsson David was responsible for managing key accounts including Woodside Offshore Petroleum, Brambles Manford, Kleenheat Gas, West Australian Newspapers and Link Communications.

In 1995 David was approached to join Pacific Star Telecommunications to commence their Perth Corporate Office. He was responsible for operating a number of direct and indirect marking channels offering aggregation discounts and facilities management to the corporate and commercial business sectors.

After the restructure of Pacific Star David was allocated a Key Accounts portfolio within the ComsWest Western Australian State Government Telecommunications Manager Contract. In performing this role he promoted both Telecommunications and Information Technology products and services to all levels of government.

In 1998 at the expiratory of the State Government Telecommunications Agreement David commenced trading as ComsWeb and has since undertaken projects to significant corporate entities such as West Australian Newspapers, Bank West, Department of Justice, Alcoa World Alumina, Australian Railway Group, Co-Operative Bulk Handing, Civil Service Association, Central West College of TAFE, United Credit, Rottenest Island Authority and many others.
