What's the biggest mistake companies make when seeking advice?
...most companies you ask for advice have vested interests. Essentially a telecommunications consultant does the same work a good technical consultant with a carrier does, except that they are not bound to offer you just the plans from the one carrier.
If it costs nothing it's probably worth nothing!
A company offering to analyse your bill for free are not a charity. In most cases they will receive an indirect payment (commission or sign up fee) if you accept their recommendation. In some cases vendors will provide incentives for consultants just to market their products.
